About The Esports Cave

Remember when gaming was a team sport?

Gaming with friends used to mean sharing a couch and split screen mayhem. Some of my fondest memories with friends was 4 player action on a big screen at a birthday party or sleepover. We would put our best foot forward as we challenged each other or teamed up to take on the bad guys. Gaming was a shared experience of laughter and passing the controller or some snacks.

The Problem: The Isolated Bedroom

Somewhere along the way the magic was lost. Almost extinct are split screen titles, and we have been forced into separate rooms with our own rigs to play at a distance. “Multiplayer” means connecting over the internet and using a headset to talk to an avatar on the screen. Completely gone is the shared human experience. Absent is the strong emotional bond of connecting in person.

Our Mission: Bringing Gamers Back Together

There still must be a way to bring gamers together, and that is why we founded The Esports Cave. Gaming is best when you can high five over the win and feel the energy in the room as you share the passion with others. No longer will gamers be forced to isolate to their rooms. We have built the ultimate gaming experience to put you face to face with friends both old and new.

We just had our 15 year olds birthday party here this past Saturday. Of all the birthdays we’ve had, we also have a 9 year old, this was the smoothest and most relaxing party, if that’s even possible, that we’ve had. Even with her other freshman friends 😅 staff were very attentive, we barely had to do anything and they were quick to get accounts setup for gameplay. We all had a blast! Thanks so much for a fun time, we’ll be back to just hangout on the main floor again and maybe an even a lock in! Would recommend to anyone for those kids that love gaming. 🙃

I was attracted to this place because it advertised that it was "family-friendly" and "clean". After having visited several times, I definitely agree with their advertising. They provide great equipment, and the place is very well maintained. I have felt quite comfortable spending time with my kids there. It's also a great value: far less expensive (and far more fun, in my opinion) than most arcades.

Me and my boyfriend come here all the time for our date nights. The people here are so nice and family friendly. Would recommend for anyone who loves gaming!!!

The journey so far:

Spawning into a new game

Our journey started back in 2018 as we began thinking of ways to bring gamers together in a physical location. A huge part of the primary goal was to bottle up that large-scale arena vibe and bring it to the local crowd. We detailed our plans for safety and comfort while maintaining a high energy spot. After planning and looking for a location all through 2019, we finally signed a lease in January of 2020 for our Anderson Mill spot. Then the unthinkable happened, the entire world shut down in March of 2020.

Completing the tutorial

As the government mandated isolation, we saw it as more important than ever to provide a safe place for gamers to be together. In June of 2020 we opened with the strictest of cleaning routines to do just that. We saw something happen that had not been happening for months around the country; real in-person human connection. It was our pleasure to offer gaming events but also something more personal. We had a Halloween lock-in complete with trick-or-treating stations for kids who couldn’t go door to door. We were open for a Thanksgiving dinner when people couldn’t visit their family.

Leveling up

As we showed up for our community, our community showed up for us and we grew into a larger location at Chaparral Ice in Cedar Park. The Ice Rink wanted us to bring video games to their ice rink and we used the increased space to run larger events such as Set Count, a Super Smash Bros and fighting game tournament, GoGames 360, bringing video games and board games alike together, and several large Call of Duty tournaments. The community was thrilled to have such high energy events in Cedar Park. We became known for professional service and high quality birthday parties.

First Boss

Then the unthinkable struck again. Chaparral Ice was repossesed by building management. With no synergy, management, or foot traffic, that location was a struggle. Since we strive to provide the highest quality of experience, we did not feel capable of doing that in a building no longer being maintained. All of 2025 and most of 2026 we have been hunting for the perfect place to keep serving gamers in the Austin area. Meanwhile we have still tried to bring you the best gaming events around such as Esports Encore tournament at the Haute Spot, Cedar Park with Super Smash Bros, Rivals of Aether, and Mario Kart.

Ranking up in multiplayer

Now we are poised again to deliver the best gaming experience possible to our community. We are partnering with Pinballz Lake Creek to bring you 20 PCs parked right in the heart of Austin’s gaming hub. After planning for months, we are announcing our soft open date of September 4th, 2026 to continue offering the full Esports Cave experience. Now you can come enjoy Pinballz’s awesome grill and bar food and beverages as you game on our PCs. If you need a break from gaming you can hop on over to play some laser tag or race some go-karts! We are confident that our birthday parties will be better than ever when you have so many more options, and our events have so much space to grow.

Your turn to spawn into our game

It has been a joy to care for gamers over the last six years, and we are dedicated to being here to keep caring for gamers for years to come. We hope that your time at the Cave is always as special to you as it is for us to provide it.
