Set Count, an Austin tournament series that aims to represent all fighting game communities, returns January 7th for the third installation in the series. The event will be in Cedar Park/Leander at The Esports Cave in The Crossover, with spillover to the event center space upstairs.
The tournmaments start will and noon and should all be completed by about 10 PM. Last year was a full house downstairs, where we held all of the tournaments. However, we’ve found out how to spread out this year. With over 291 contestants last year, it was a very full room. Therefore, this year the smash tournaments (Ultimate and Melee) will be upstairs in the event center. This room has about 14,000 square feet. In addition to allowing for the tournaments, there will also be a nice seating area for viewing. In addition, Set Count also has sponsors and vendors this year. The vendors will also be in the event center. Tekken 7 and Strive will for sure be in The Cave. Finally, much like last year, the after party (with “beer” pong) will be upstairs in the warm room by the rinks.
This Set Count tournament will include a myriad of fight-type games:
This will be a huge event this year. The Set Count signups are already over 300, so sign up today! We’ll see you January 7th at The Crossover.
